India: Land of Contrasts

Studying the novel, Homeless Bird has introduced some of the students to Indian culture in a more personal and profound way. The girls in the Years 7 and 8 English class are a similar age to Koly, the protagonist of the story, and yet her life is vastly different to one encountered in western culture.

To mark the end of this unit, we had an afternoon to celebrate with Indian food, costumes, crafts and decorative art.
